Let’s Go Back to the Beach Again

Written in fall 2020.

It’s just a little escapism from the daily routines we all face right now.

Get out your flip flops, bathing suits and sunscreen for this one!

Better

Better

This song came to me in December 2020.  It’s inspiration was my awareness of so many people losing spouses and loved ones in 2020, especially due to Covid 19.  It was a tough year.  It centers around the old quote “It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.”  I tried, based on my beliefs, to also throw some hope into the mix.

Just Like A Thief In The Night

Just Like A Thief In The Night

I wrote this one in April 2020. For a couple of months before that I had a guitar lick and a chord progression in my head but I couldn’t come up with any words that fit it.  We were watching a movie and the phrase “Like A Thief In The Night” was spoken and I thought—that’s it!  The song came out of that.  It’s just a simple, fun song about a guy who has found the woman for him.  He has decided he is going to win her over and he will not take no for an answer!!  I got to stretch out and play a little blues lead guitar on this one.  So, crank up the volume and enjoy!!!

You’re My Forever Love

You’re My Forever Love

I wrote this song early in 2020.  It was inspired by and is dedicated to my beautiful and wonderful wife Susan.  So, if you’re in the mood to hear a good old love song, have a listen and I hope you enjoy it!

Do I Ever Cross Your Mind

Do I Ever Cross Your Mind

I wrote this one in 1987.  Man, that’s been a few years ago! I had a chord progression and a tempo in mind and I just hit on this topic.  It’s about a guy who messed up and lost the woman he loves but wonders if he could possibly have a second chance.  I hope you like it!!

One.

One.

Written in 1988, this song is about a couple on their wedding day and how their lives will be changed forever.  I hadn’t really thought about it before but it occurred to me this would be a good duet.  So, I enlisted the vocal talents of my lovely wife, Susan, for this one.  She really sounds good!  Another love song.  Hope you enjoy it!!

The Hills Of Tennessee.

The Hills Of Tennessee

I wrote this one around 1975.  A long time ago!!  It’s about a couple who moved to the big city in pursuit of success and the perceived “good life”.  They find sometimes the big city life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.  So, they just want to go home.

In Her Dreams

In Her Dreams

I wrote this one in 1994, I think!  Around that year anyway.  It’s based on some circumstances our daughter was going through at the time.  From a practical standpoint, Susan and I couldn’t understand a purchase she made.  On an emotional level, I thought I might have understood why she bought the item.  Our daughter is a planner and a hopeless romantic.  God bless the hopeless romantics!!  They make our world a kinder, gentler and more beautiful place.  Fast forward 25 plus years and her life is all good now!  I hope you enjoy the song.

When I Found You.

When I Found You

Written in 2005.  This is another song inspired by my fantastic wife, Susan.  I was just reflecting on what a blessing our marriage is to me.  That’s it, pure and simple.  I am one lucky guy!

You Got The Power.

You Got The Power

This one does go back in time.  I wrote this song in 1967!  I was a young guy playing in a popular local band, The Champells.  I wrote a few songs for the band and this one got the attention of the management company for a group called The Tams.  They had some major success with a song called “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” and were looking for songs to be on a new album.  They liked this one, recorded it and it was released on their album “A Portrait of the Tams.”  Unfortunately, the album sank like a boat anchor!  But, at least I got a cut from a major recording group on an album from abc Records.  My new recording combines parts of their version and our band’s original version.  It has a good beach music vibe and beat and I am still proud of the song.  I hope you like it!!
